Turning off Google+ Cross-Posting

If you would like to cross-post your Google+ posts to other services, I can recommend friendsplus.me. I've been using it for quite a while and it works well.

Come the beginning of the year I'm going to start posting in a different way for Blog Oklahoma and my other pages.

I'm going to turn off cross-posting with Friends+Me, and start manually posting to each social service. I plan to individualize the posts for each platform maximizing what I can do within that platform.

Cross posting from Google+ with Friends+Me has been a time saver, but I feel I'm missing out on what I can do at other services. For one example, cross-posting on Twitter links back to Google+. I can save you the reader a step by posting links directly to Twitter instead.

So instead of taking, oh lets say, 1 minute to post something and have it echoed a few minutes later. I'll take 2 or 3 minutes to post to all my services (Google+, Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, and sometimes Instagram or Flickr). Not a big deal time wise for how I share things.

Again. This is not a knock on Friends+Me. It's a good service and if you'd like to go the other direction from where I'm heading, check it out. friendsplus.me

What do you think of this move? I would love to hear your opinion.
