Them!
Tonight we left out our Spooky Season list and ended up with ants. Unfortunately, these weren’t the harmless little red or black ants we’ll often find on our kitchen counter. No, these ants are the size of a truck and make a sound like a bearing going out on said truck.
This 1954 black-and-white classic is one of the best giant-creature movies in the genre. It features many recognizable actors: James Arness (Gunsmoke), James Whitmore (The Shawshank Redemption), Edmund Gwenn (Miracle on 34th Street), Fess Parker (Daniel Boone), and a young Leonard Nimoy complaining about Texans. Plus many other actors you might not know the name of, but have seen in many other movies and TV shows (a lot of westerns).
“And there shall be destruction and darkness come upon creation, and the beasts shall reign over the earth.”
Them! is very memorable and an excellent movie to add to your monster movie marathon.
