Edging out the competition

The following contains a spoiler for this coming Friday's WWE Smackdown. I typically wouldn't post or ever read Smackdown spoilers, but since it was announced on WWE.com and ECW last night, I thought I would go ahead and jot down some thoughts. So if you want to be surprised, look away right now and close your browser.

Edge is now the World Champion.

In another well played move, Edge once again cashed in his newly won, from Mr. Kennedy, Money In The Bank contract to spear and pin an already beaten down Undertaker.

Sound familiar? Yep, Edge did the same thing to John Cena after an Elimination Chamber match.

You might not like the whiny and cheating Edge, but you got to give him credit, the writers know how to use him.

Undertaker is out with an injury. Mr. Kennedy is out with an injury. Batista has been getting heat backstage (according to some news reports I've read.). So who to put the title on? Why not Edge. This moves him to a star hungry Smackdown.

Edge is good on the mic, great in the ring, is way over with the crowd (love, hate, both). Moving him to Smackdown is a great decision. This will put him in the top tier where he can shine without the shadow of HBK, Cena, or even the Undertaker.

Here's a short list of who is out with an injury. (That I know of)
  • HHH
  • Rey Mysterio
  • Super Crazy
  • Mr. Kennedy
  • Undertaker
  • Bob Holly
  • King Booker
