I’m against bullying. Today is #SpiritDay. Today people are going purple to show their support for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (#LGBT) youth by taking a stand against bullying.

Bullying sucks.
Just now I typed up a long really profane screed on high school, my bullies, and on why I’ll never return there. I deleted it. Honestly it was good to get out, even after 29 years. But you know what? It’s really not important. My bullies are not important. In fact I wish them well. I hope they’re living a good life somewhere. I will never see them again.
What is important is giving support to those being bullied right now.
It really does get better. I know it doesn’t seem like it right now, but it will. You shouldn’t be bullied. Stand up to your bullies by just asking for help. If you’re at school, tell your teacher, counselor, or principal. Let your parents know you’re being bullied. Still need help, reach out to the community. Organizations like GLAAD and The Trevor Project are here for you.
If you’re being bullied online, report and block.
