After much consideration I have decided to take down my standing workstation and go back to sitting. I know big deal right.

I've been using a stand up workstation since October 22, 2013. I picked up some IKEA tables and a shelf and I was up and standing to code. It has worked out for these last few years. My back felt better and I felt I was getting more exercise because of it.

Lately however I'm starting to get more fatigued. Even though I'm standing, I don't think I'm moving as much as I should. I still take breaks and walk around the building, but It's probably not enough. A knee injury last November hasn't helped a whole lot. I know this isn't an excuse but the injury and the bad weather have put a damper on getting regular exercise. Plus some nights I go home with sore swollen legs and that is no fun.

I still recommend a standing workstation for anyone who has to sit for long periods of time. If you can afford it, I'd recommend a desk that will let you convert from sitting to standing and back again. If you do have to sit, I really recommend you get up several times throughout the day and walk around and stretch. It's something I'll be doing to be sure.

So it's time to change. Converting back to a sitting workstation isn't complicated, just time consuming. It'll be an adjustment to be sure. O_o

More later. Time to code.
