I was in a good mood most of the day. I got all my Monday tasks done. I published the latest Blog Oklahoma Newsletter. I even had time to catch up on some technical reading. That all changed at the end of the workday.
I was quickly browsing the news on Facebook when I came across a post from a local diner running a Trump promotion. Blatant cult-like political propaganda right there between posts of their food specials.
Diner's Facebook post / Diner name redactied
I immediately unfollowed them, as is the custom when I see this cultish behavior. I don’t need that BS in my life. I won’t be going to that local dinner or will be recommending them anytime soon. However, I would like to thank them for saving me money. Eating at home is cheaper. Ha!
If you’re a diner owner and you want to vote for that asshat, please feel free. Thank you for voting, and I mean that. I can’t help but think what a dumb business decision to post something like this. And you’re a diner; you’re probably close to the margin as it is. You just alienated some of your clientele. You are actively losing money for a political stunt. Dumb. And before you say it, I think the same if they ran a Biden promotion in the same fashion. It’s a dumb idea to push politics when you're trying to advertise your chicken fried steak.
I’m a little bit disappointed. Yes, I live in a red state, and honestly, you must expect this kind of thing to happen. This diner was doing so well with its food promotion. I was even thinking of stopping in and having one of their specials. And now they’ve ruined it. Disappointing.
Also disappointing is this is what I needed to talk about in the next to last #blogmonth post. Well, at least I had something to blog about today. Ha!
More later. Time to get ready for Halloween and the end of #blogmonth.
