2004 Politics

Compiling an article about politics wasn’t as easy as I was hoping it would be. I’ve spent the last week just on looking up information, and I’m still not done. So far the best information I’ve found so far has been in the out of the way spaces. The blog content alone would take me the rest of the year to sift through it all. (I don’t think Jack would like that) Unfortunately, I’m still missing a few things, like Oklahoma senatorial candidates. Its still early in the campaign season, I’m sure that information will float to the top as we get closer to the primary election in July.
If anyone knows a web site for Kirk Humphreys, please drop me a line.
Side Note: In my searching I found a wonderful resource, it’s the Wikipedia free online encyclopedia. What makes this encyclopedia unique is its open nature. I’m defiantly going to be including this site in my research from now on.
What started the creation of this article was a discussion with the guys in the back room about what the difference between Republicans and Democrats. They just didn’t know. So they came to my cold dark north facing windowless office, and asked me.
They came to me because I’m one of the few people in the building who keeps up with these things. Every working morning, after a cup a coffee, I read the paper. Through out the day I browse the online news and blogs. And finally most working mornings I can be found listening to Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh. (I’m sure an annoyance to the sales girls next-door.)
So we began a discussion on the political differences and elements of the political culture. I had to look up a few things, like where did Libertarianism fall with in the political spectrum. All this research started a chain reaction ending up in my latest ITLnet article.
I’m hoping to get it posted before the end of the day, Friday.
