Clinical Laboratory Report
My blood work results from a few days ago are in. Here’s my doctor’s summary of the results. I don’t mind sharing.
- A1C: 7.2 – Fair control of diabetes; average glucose is 160.
- Normal kidney function.
- Normal liver test.
- Normal cholesterol.
- Normal prostate test.
- Mildly elevated white blood count is usually due to infection. Otherwise, normal blood count.
The results are better than I expected. I think my regular medication is doing a lot of the heavy lifting. An A1C in the 7s has been my baseline for years. On one A1C test I took back when I was working at the big blue box store, I got it down to 6. I’m confident that was from regular exercise. Something I’m lacking since I started my new job. I think I sit more than I did at my previous job. Honestly, I’m happy my A1C wasn’t above 8, given everything I mentioned in an earlier post.
I’m almost finished with the Z-Pak I was prescribed. Let’s hope it knocks down this annoying random cough.
