Music
I thought I’d share my favorite online music sources with you today. This is by no means a comprehensive list, since you can find music all over the place. But this should give you a good start for some good tunes. Ha!
I was a big Spotify user until a few years ago, when I unexpectedly had to cancel my subscription. Since then, I’ve moved over to Apple Music. Not only was it a little cheaper than Spotify, but I think it sounds better too. I was able to import many of my Spotify playlists over to Apple Music, so I haven’t missed any of the music I’ve curated over the years.
Apple Music is my primary music source, but I don’t listen to it all the time. There are some great online stations out there; most are free and community-supported.
First and foremost is Radio Paradise. It’s an eclectic mix of music that I completely enjoy. The Main Mix is outstanding, but check out RockIt! I think I listen to it the most.
Next, when I’m in the mood for something completely different, I tune in to Soma FM. Groove Salad, Lush, Dubstep Beyond, and Indie Pop Rocks are some of my regular listens.
When I want electronica and synthwave, I pull up Nightride FM. The main Nightride FM channel has a great mix, but if you want a different flavor, check out Datawave or Darksynth.
If I’m on YouTube, you can’t go wrong with Lofi Girl. Their original feed, lofi hip hop radio – beats to relax/study to, is still a must-tune, but they’ve added several more feeds, such as the quality synthwave radio – beats to chill/game to.
And when I’m in a little darker mood along the same lines as Lofi Girl, I’ll open Ill-Advised Records and listen to Dark Lofi Hip Hop Beats to Lie Awake and Succumb to Crippling Anxiety to, but right now they’re live with their seasonal Halloween Lofi Radio – 24/7 Dark Lofi Beats (No AI).
